Matthew Hook, MD, FACC

CARDIOLOGY | VASCULAR INTERVENTION

Matt has over 20 years’ experience in vascular intervention and performs both above the knee and below the knee revascularization. Matt focuses on what the patient truly needs and what is most appropriate for each patient. He has worked in Johnston County for over 10 years and sees patients in Smithfield and Clayton.

Matt also specializes in complex coronary and chronic total occlusion, carotid artery, and acute stroke intervention.

As an AOA graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and The University of Virginia IM Residency program, he was honored with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Innovator Award. He served his fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation where his area of study was interventional cardiology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine-Interventional Cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is currently affiliated with UNC Health.
